Meet Emma: Our Epic Event Manager

As the Event Manager, Emma helps clients to deliver their event programmes throughout the year. Emma’s event portfolio includes conferences, seminars, award events, social days, residential dinners, exhibitions and webinars. As well as managing events, Emma gives invaluable support in all aspects of business to our clients.

So, let’s get to know our super-organised event wizard!

What is your favourite food? Chicken and Rice… you can’t go wrong with a classic! 🍚

Which four individuals, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party? Beyoncé, Okachan, Tom Hardy & Valery Alekseyevich Legasov

What is your favourite film? Dirty Dancing or the Notebook, depends on what mood I am in!

What is your favourite Animal? Pit Bulls, I have always wanted to live in America so I can have a ranch full of them all running around. One day I hope they might not be banned in the UK.

How long have you been working at AGM?: I joined AGM in January 2016 and time has quite literally flown by since I joined the company.

What does your role typically include? Generally I oversee and manage all the events and meetings for our clients, this ranges from receiving event briefs, developing and presenting proposals to onsite event support and everything in between! I also pick up general admin items such as training course management, publication production, website management as well as responding to general inquiries from clients and the general public.

Can you tell us what a typical day in the life involves? No day at AGM is the same and that’s one of the reasons I enjoy my role so much. A lot of my time is spent out of the office at meetings, on site visits and meeting new clients. When I am in the office the first thing I will do is check through my emails and action anything urgent. Following this I will focus on my task list and action items for any events and meetings. This includes managing all the various event logistics and processing the delegate bookings for each of the events throughout the year.

What is your favourite part of your role? I enjoy providing the onsite event support for our clients events. It enables me to meet all the delegates that have booked to attend the event and interact with the external suppliers, which helps build future working relationships. Growing and nurturing each event from its infancy, starting as an initial proposal, to seeing them through to the live events provides a great amount of job satisfaction and I always feel proud that I was able to meet both the clients brief and expectations.

What is your best memory of AGM so far? We are a very sociable office and always do things outside of the office together. One of my favourite office trips was to London to see Aladdin at the theatre over Christmas. Mainly because I love Christmas, Disney and the theatre so it was the best combination!

Where could we find you outside of work? I am always outdoors, whether its walking our dog or up the stables with the horses. As during the week, I am spending a lot of my time either travelling to meetings or based in the office, I like to make the most of getting outside when I am not working. That being said, I am a bit of a fair-weather fan so if it’s raining outside you will probably find me either down the pub enjoying a glass of wine and a tasty meal or at home binge watching the latest programme on Netflix. 📺
